Campaign Message Queues and Rate Limits

Queues hold messages waiting for a processing or sending opportunity. A campaign needs to know whether queued updates will still be useful when released.

Queues, rate limits, and deadlines

Track backlog, oldest-message age, configured rate, and expiration. A short event reminder can become misleading if it leaves the queue after the event starts.

Putting the guide into practice

Estimate capacity from segments and useful time window, define a late-message stop condition, and confirm which queued requests can be canceled.

  • Oldest age
  • Capacity assumption
  • Cancellation boundary

Limits and review decisions

Do not count queued messages as delivered. A rate limit tells you about processing capacity, not recipient attention.
