Time-Sensitive Message Expiration

An expiration policy prevents an update from continuing toward recipients after its useful window. It is especially important for venue changes and same-day reminders.

Expiring time-sensitive messages

The campaign should define the content's useful-until time separately from its desired send time. The provider's cancellation boundary may occur earlier than delivery.

Putting the guide into practice

Put an expiry field in the send plan, confirm how the platform enforces it, and review whether a queued correction needs to replace the original update.

Limits and review decisions

Do not promise recall after a message has reached a network or device. Make cancellation and delivery boundaries clear to operators.
